Take On Me-Timeless
Take on me in my opinion is timeless due to the simple animation style chosen which was carried out well meaning that even if animation has developed greatly in years since the sketch/comic book style of this will still look great compared to modern and even future animated music videos. The one aspect that makes it look dated is the mise-en-scene like choice of actors with a hairstyle that was very common in the 80's but not today letting us know that it is not a modern video. The camera quality is another feature that lets us know it's dated as it is not the same high quality we are use to compared to today's high definition.
Goodbye to the haters who loved me- Hate
To be honest I love this music video I'm just saying I hate it for the purpose of the homework. There are many many things wrong with this music video I could pause at any moment in this song and write a 1000 words why that specific time code alone is bad. But I have to write something so here is 100 words of me stating the obvious. One bad thing about this song is that the sound and the video don't match so when he sings it is not in time with the mouth movements he makes. The "dance routine" was very poor and not entertaining enough to belong in a music video, but it was so bad to the point that it was entertaining so maybe he is actually a genius. The camera language used is very boring and repetitive and stick mainly to straight long shots and mid shots, except that bit at 2:10 like woah calm down there mate.
Let's go- Stuck In Sound
This is my current favourite music video because it shows that if you are determined you can reach your goals but also that if you don't enjoy the journey there and give up on everything for that dream it may all be pointless. I thought the video was very moving and eye opening but I also like it because of the emotion it shows of this man dealing with losing everything and I think the emotion he shows is what a real person would show in that situation. The animation even though is not spectacular I really enjoy the style of it for example at 2:13. One thing I like is that the lyrics are almost completely opposite to what we are seeing on screen adding a further level of depth to what the character has missed out on that the lyrics are talking about someone making them happy and finding their way home when the man has isolated himself and his home has just been destroyed, but the song somehow still fits really well with the video
